Fortunately, woodland creatures don’t hire lawyers

So it begins

Rand starts gathering men who can channel (Asha’man), and builds the black tower. The first man he brings to his cause is Mazrim Taim. Taim is a very strong channeler, and close rival to Rand (much like Demandred was).
There is a lot of friction between Rand and Taim as Rand gives him license to train men, and essentially anoints him to the male equivalent of the Amyrlin.
Friction continues, Taim starts training his hand picked guys who are loyal to him showing them stuff he doesn’t show others.
Eventually Taim is shown as a dark friend.
The whole way RJ is hinting that Taim is Demandred but he changed course

It doesn’t kill it. The only thing that does are RJs comments during interviews, which I choose to ignore. It’s like Gay Dumbledore.
The other one that was a major missed boat was the Taim/Demanded arc. Everything lead to it and RJ chickened out.
I’m on my 4th reread lol. Been reading them for 20 years on and off

I’m a huge wheel of time nerd. While Mat’s memories are clearly other men’s memories that got trapped in the tower of Genji, I like to think that they were all HIS memories from different spinnings of the wheel. RJ says no, but it’s my fan theory I won’t let die
That’s like $10k right there

This guy belongs to the family Sminthuridae.
I used to count mites and collembola under a scope all summer. Talk about tedious.
Frank Ashwood has some great photos like this one on Instagram and he’s worth the follow

Lol, you’re describing married life.
With other commitments, kids, etc there is zero spontaneity. Often planned sex falls through because someone is tired or something comes up.
If anything you’re ahead of the curve lol.
Hurling Subway sandwiches at cops is probably the best use of them. They aren’t fit for human consumption

out of all the comments in this thread, yours is probably the best thought out. I’ll admit, I’m very much in line with OP, in that the more someone hypes something up, the less I want to do with it. I get increasingly skeptical, and that gets seriously compounded when I see C-suites give nebulous answers on how things will improve with a new invention.
I think it’ll find its niche, but right now, the fucking thing can barely do math, and is at best, a learned pig. There’s really big barriers to making AI actually useful, such as the scalability and energy/water requirements. Until we can get elegant coding and inputs, we’re going to struggle.
Honestly, my thoughts too. It’s easy to be an arm chair activist and say what you would do (myself included) and an entirely other thing to actually intervene

Jane was a class act, a total bad ass, and a huge inspiration for a little nature nerd (like I was at 6).
Sad to see her go, but she’s left a huge mark on science and conservation and inspired thousands.
Now I’m a big nature nerd, and work to save it. Thanks for the guiding light, Jane.

IIRC weren’t you a power user or whatever too? Been a loooong time since I was on reddit

Honestly, they inadvertently made it better, and certainly made it more poignant
Happy Birthday, OP. Trying to lose weight sucks. I miss the days when I was on the “see food” diet, but I’ve dropped 20 lbs since January and picked up some healthy habits along the way.
Watermelon is amazing, so I’d be all over this
Right? That one tin of tobacco looks like it was placed there yesterday. The newspapers are super cool too - they didn’t just dissolve, and they offer a glimpse into life at that time
