Probably, but a bit of wounded pride on top would be good for Jake.

Tbh, Jake has already lost. If he wins, people will say he beat up a 58yo man, former boxer or not. If he loses, he got beat up by a 58yo man.
Like, there’s no way he can actually win in the square of public opinion, and I’m here for it.
My original comment said as much. No point repeating myself.
I think we’ll have midterms, but I’m less optimistic about 2028.
Based on their “assessment” of why they lost (specifically the politicians and DNC), I’m inclined to agree.
I hope there’s people on the left working to provide a populist candidate, because I haven’t seen anything even remotely suggesting that’s happening, and I don’t see how we can hope to fix shit without it.
Conservatives will have a majority in all branches. Repealing or revising constitutional amendments isn’t out of the question, and there’s a lot of damage they can do before midterms (if there’s even a chance to vote in different people).
Her messaging still sucked.
It was this. I was really engaged this season. I was fully on board to support her, but towards the end, I had to remind myself why I was excited. I was already going to support her, and I had forgotten what made me excited more than once.
If that happened to me, a fervent supporter of what she represented, everybody else who was more lukewarm forgot completely. She was the candidate of change at the beginning and was Joe Biden 2.0 by the end.
If Dems don’t figure out how to capture excitement in their next attempts, if they can’t energize the young who are so naive they follow Instagram influencers without a second thought, they’re gonna keep losing to these terrible but charismatic Republicans.
The US elects a misogynistic fascist, and misogynists feel emboldened. Who could have seen this coming? I’m as surprised as y’all are—which is to say: not at all.
Some good news for a change.
Ew, you went through my post history from almost a year ago? Gross and creepy. No wonder y’all can’t win converts to your cause if that’s how you behave.
Leave it to the Japanese, who invented tsugite joinery, to show the world how to build a wooden satellite.
Alright. Well, gotta deal with the pain of having a criminal conman for a president on our individual ways, I suppose.
I’m not really interested in criticizing people, myself. You can do what you like and convince people to join you in whatever way you deem fit, but in my experience, they tend to shut down and stop listening (maybe it’s my delivery). I’d much rather show them there’s hope elsewhere, especially because right now, that’s what a lot of people want. Honey vs. vinegar, and all that.
I appreciate your answers, but I still don’t follow the logic. Thanks anyway.
For my part, I’m not sure it is, though lack of votes didn’t help. The meme is perhaps meanspirited so soon after the painful news, but here’s my question, and this is genuine: now what?
Trump will get to pick a bunch of lower federal judges and probably two more SCOTUS judges. What’s the way out when it seems to me that he and his jackals control the military, the police, and the judiciary? Seems like a hopeless setup to me.
Harris lost, so what’s Step 2?
I don’t get it. Are you happy Trump won, or…?
These are all great examples. And sometimes, you just start your own, like inviting a few neighbors to a cookout.
Too early to say, but assume Social Security and Medicare/aid are fair game.
Nope, the hype around it is because it’s a Rust-based DE whose features compete with Hyprland and Gnome while hopefully improving upon both.
People are excited for what it promises to be, but it’s not even close to fully cooked, though several people have found that the current features work for their day to day usage. I don’t really want to have to deal with bugs or big changes, so I’ll also be waiting.
Read more books. Seriously. Having a fresh batch of words to draw upon helps me a lot.
This isn’t going anywhere. I listened to the recent Knowledge Fight episode, and he’s just being a whiny little baby about it, trying anything and everything to stop the sale of his company and assets.
