So far foil seems to be smoothing things out. Not great, it will take some fiddling with, but it’s working!

Yeah, no bed screws on this one. I’ll need to upgrade this bed at some point, that’s for sure. The foil is a good idea, I could put it under the PEI sheet in the front right to bring it up the smallest amount. I’d be able to bring my z-offset up a bit and have a semi-consistent first layer that way

It’d be cheaper, sure. But that assumes anyone actually wants to run things locally. My VP is an elderly woman who would love to get off the Board as well. We just don’t have volunteers to run things. I joined up so our HOA didn’t get handed to a lawyer to run, which would cost even more.

Prior to having a management company, the HOA treasurer embezzled about $40,000. It’s the reason they got the management company in the first place.

Getting out of it is the hardest part for us right now.

We’re in a small 28 unit condominium, so our dues go towards insurance for all buildings (only exterior, have to have our own for studs in), water, lawn service, management company, etc. Our dues are almost $400/month.

Yes, per month. It absolutely blows, especially when we’re trying to sell our unit and it’s been on the market for almost half a year.

I’m the HOA president so I know what all our expenses are (and have fought to keep increases to a minimum, including negotiating the community water bill with the water company), and unless we kick out the management company (Not going to happen) the dues are just going to stay high. We’re preparing to refuse an increase for the next year.

The credentials are using a new user ‘moose’ that owns the folders and has full control user=moose password=3141

We just had a total power outage, and restarting my main machine I remembered I have Linux Mint installed as duel boot. I’ve been waiting for a final push to get me to migrate away from Windows. Would it be easier to do all this from Linux Mint instead of Windows?

No GUI on my end (It’s been fun learning to use a headless server). I have to sudo to be able to do anything in the mount locations. Using ls -s, the permissions and owner aren’t changing after using chown and chmod.

Yup, the mount is authenticated and the Share Permissions on Windows have it set to Full Control for Everyone, plus ‘Password protected sharing’ is turned off under Advanced Network Settings.
