Outside of work: Both. I want people to think I look good in the clothes I wear, but even if they don’t I am probably not going to change them. At work: We have a dress code. I follow it to the letter, because I think it makes a positive difference in how I am perceived by my employer. I almost completely disregard my own preferences in this context.

Somewhat related: Does anyone know why so many of the images uploaded to Lemmy are GIFs? Or at least download in that format when using Sync? It’s kind of annoying because they aren’t animated, they are completely static images, and all that does is cause problems with sending them in other apps. I frequently have to download an image, take a screenshot of it, and crop it to the original size again.

As a non-American, this baffles me.

People have to be able to question the motive of content without being accused of “stirring the pot”. Personally I really appreciated that the comment you replied to was posted, as it led you to reply to it, so that I could get more context and information.

Since when is Joe Rogan bad enough to warrant getting shot in the first place? I feel like the guy has said some bad (and far more dumb) things but it’s not like he poses any kind of danger to anyone does he? I know this is besides the point, but murder is far from proportional to anything (that I am aware of) that Joe has been known to do. With that said I don’t really know much about what he’s been up to for the past 5 years or so.

It’s definitely not worth it. Zuckerberg is the bigger fish here, at least within the social media domain. Meta’s threads replacing Twitter would make them even more powerful than they already are. I don’t like Elon, and it’s crazy that he somehow managed to make Twitter even worse than it was, but we really don’t need Meta to grow even larger.
