117·3 months agoGo to the wedding. That is a really big deal. After that don’t engage with him on politics. Maybe don’t engage at all. Show up for birthdays and maybe a holiday or two. Do the ‘quiet quitting’ of family interaction. You aren’t going to change their mind. I’ve been trying for 20+ years and it’s just gotten worse.
That seems like an incredibly dumb idea.
Capping rent makes more housing less likely. Are you suggesting government built housing?
Not allowing one or two private equity firms to own a lions share of the market would help.

4·5 months agoI found out about it on Android first but had a hard time with the interface. I put it on my PC and am now fully addicted.
I was concerned. I have a family subscription coming due and no time to migrate. Really glad I don’t have to.

The hive mind / group think stuff on Reddit is strong. I had a friend doing a section of the PCT and he was saying literally everyone had the same setups from socks to water filters.
That kind of uniformity isn’t good for anyone.

The anticompetitive practice is, sell for the same price here or we won’t sell your game? They don’t want to be undercut, can’t blame them for that.
If they forced exclusivity deals, sure that is anti competitive. If they dictated prices, that would be anticompetitive. If they forced users to buy bundles to get certain games, if they forced a subscription to access games, if they gobbled up every other game seller and closed them down…
We have seen a lot of bullshit in corpo land. I’m not saying valve is perfect, or I love and trust them, but this is pretty weak in terms of objections. I’d rather deal with valve than Microsoft. Then again I was saying that about Google 15 years ago, now a lot less so.
I for one didn’t find him that entertaining or insightful. The whole white people do have culture and then pointing to German culture, demonstrates he doesn’t really understand the argument he is ostensibly defending. His analysis seemed to me be fairly superficial.
Also, to be clear, Matt Walsh is a piece of shit.
