  • I personally think that anime and manga having a ‘pipeline’ helps them.

    • A publisher like Weekly Shonen Jump shotguns a load of new series into their comic and sees if any stick.

    • If a series is popular, then their individual volumes sell well, encouraging WSJ to continue publishing.

    • After a while, the popular series will most likely be given an anime (which nowadays tend to be very manga accurate), which tend to export better.

    • If the anime is popular, volume sales increase worldwide, and you have a massive hit.

While this quite effectively creates new popular series, it leads to a massive manga graveyard.

Western comics don’t really have this kind of pipeline and I’m not aware of any WSJ-like publications for new Western projects.

  • I read some protestors are protesting against racism.

There have been counter-protests which have vastly outnumbered the supremacist protest. It’s great to see.

Basically this was triggered by a false rumor that recent child murders were committed by a Muslim immigrant, where in reality they were an unstable 1st generation (so fully UK born and raised) and from a Christian family. It was basically the tipping point for a lot of pent-up racists. A former MI6 agent has pretty much confirmed this rumor was probably started by a propaganda group, likely Russian, and likely a response to a more left-leaning political party recently being voted into No. 10.

  • I don’t have a proper answer but I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve seen it happen with channels like GameXplain, A+ Start, and LTT as you said.

It seems like it comes from long-term social engineering where the hackers pretend to be a potential sponsor and eventually send a .zip with a dodgy screen saver file that rips the session cookies from the PC’s browser.

Why they choose Musk? I assume, like you said, people who like him are more likely to fall for scams. I’ve never watched too much of the stream, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a crypto scam in there.
