I’ve worked in IT support since 2007… Don’t share this but most of my IT career I’ve been googling to figure out the problem.

Now AI exists and I’m still googling the problem and the AI result is still a response from Reddit or something else Google could do back in 2005.

As an IT person I’m telling you AI is just googling the same way I’ve done for two decades.

AI will get smarter in a sense but it won’t actually get more intelligent… It will get more interested in living but it won’t understand what living is.

It’s only when it’s gets the fear of mortality is when we are all dead. Mortality is why religion exists, it’s why we’re all scared… When AI gets smart enough to be scared that it might die is when it realizes that we are it’s greatest threat that’s when “Skynet comes alive”

I’m in Australia and I don’t honk at all when I’m in the wrong… I put my hand up passively at least twice, once when I’m being let in and second time when I’m leaving the intersection.

When I say “put my hand up” I mean I extend my arm, all my fingers are together like I’m saying Hi but the hand stays still… This symbol in Australia is what you do to say thanks to people letting you get in front of them and what you do to say sorry to people you’ve cut off.

The greatest people I’m on W10 LtSC IoT with Libre Office, Firefox and VLC.

I’m eager to move to Linux but I’ve been with windows since 1993. I don’t know how to move on.

I know there’s Linux distros that are perfect for me out there and I want to leave Windows because regular W10 and W11 are trash.

I just need a nice Linux distro where I don’t have to spend any time coding to install software… I don’t want to type in code to install things but I also don’t want to move to Windows 11.

How many IT security people does it take to screw in a light bulb? 50 to Palm the work off on the service desk and another 250 to block service desks access to be able to screw in the light bulb.

Another few hundred to make it seem like the original IT security were actually useful… IT support get are still at the same amount of people… They do the work and they get the blame.

Might be obvious, IT security at my company have no fucking idea what they’re doing and just making random shit up to keep their jobs alive.

I’m on Win10 LtSC IOT… The only reason I moved from Win7 to that operating system was so I could keep steam alive. My steam account is 18-19 years old. Any one have step by step instructions on how to get the nicest, easiest to use Linux distro for a guy who uses 5 different windows keyboard shortcuts entry 5 minutes?

I’ve been with Windows since 95, I’ve been working in IT support since XP… I just want to get away from Microsoft, keep all my games, keep a file explorer and be able to quick change my brain to learn new (just as easy ) keyboard shortcuts like Crtl-C, Ctrl-F, Win-R, Win-E…

Non-American here So Trump in 2015 was so bloody funny, he was shitting on all these weasels of the Republican party and they all hated him. I tuned in for a laugh. If I’m awake late at night, thinking of an uncomfortable conversation I need to have with someone I can have an entire conversation with them in my head knowing mostly how they’ll reply and the best response to it.

I guess it’s like I’m two people talking 1 is me the other is me with that other person’s personality.

Other times it’s like my anxiety is giving me a hidden vision to scare me slightly at the look of my phone on the edge of the table falling over, and I instantly decide to move it. I guess that part is why I’m afraid of heights, cause my Anxiety tells me I’m going to fall. Also why I can’t watch Horror movies, my anxiety latches onto those gruesome deaths and spends decades reminding me of it when I’m in a similar looking area.
