  • The reason it’s relevant is that most working people do not earn salaries, they earn hourly rates. I’m a welding engineer earning a salary, working with maintenance men and welders and operators who all earn hourly rates. Every company I’ve ever worked for has both salary and hourly and also an HR department.

The situation you are describing does not align with the vast majority of working people’s experiences.

  • Agree he hasn’t lost his license yet, as that is currently what is being threatened if he does not comply with the court order. Hasn’t actually happened yet, just will if he doesn’t.

As for being harmful… I don’t know how to spell this out any simpler than the quote so I’ll just make it easier to read I guess?

**THE COURT DECLARED DR. PETERSON’S ACTIVITIES AS HARMFUL TO THE PUBLIC AND DAMAGING TO THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGY **

I’m really not what there is to misunderstand, he is under threat of losing his license because his actions are HARMFUL TO THE PUBLIC AND THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGY

  • Newtons laws actually do an amazingly good job of describing motion in the realms of physics we typically interact with. Newtons laws aren’t wrong, for things like making an airplane fly and boats float, or things like throwing a ball/shooting an arrow/shooting a bullet, they’re just incomplete when you look at the “extremes” like inner planetary orbits. The main reason Einstein is so revered is because he was able to develop a theory and equations that do accurately predict what had been observed.

Almost certainly Einsteins theory is similarly incomplete, we just have to find the extremes where its predictions don’t agree with experiment and then understand what the experiment results actually mean and what could cause them.

One thing to always remember is that all these laws and theories and equations are just ways to model and predict the reality we experience. All models are wrong. Some models are useful.

  • The cold weather makes your immune system work harder, so all the normal crap you get exposed to has a higher chance to slip through the cracks and start growing.

The factor about people “huddling together” is a really bad way to say that generally people go outside less, and more time inside increases the chances of being around other people, and even if those people are not actively sick they can still be carrying enough virus to spread it. Think of it like getting sun burned, you can get exposed and be fine, some people are really good at resisting exposure, others are more sensitive, but if you do nothing to reduce exposure and nothing to protect yourself from that exposure, ya gonna get burned.
