This is a 50 yo technology, what’s new?
It tries to lessen the supersonic boom so that, unlike Concorde, you can fly Mach 1+ over populated areas.
For civil aviation use, or most likely for a multi billionaire private jet rather than an airliner.
Especially because the noise inside might still be pretty bad.
In that context, there are reasons the Concorde is no longer flying…
The Internet also made Concorde redundant. We’re never going to travel faster than TCP packets on a zoom call.
Rich assholes who want a vacation with less travel time are gonna love these though.
