Title. Apparently there is a cruise ship quarantined right now because of this. And a guy at work was telling me some of the staff escaped? Not sure what exactly is going on but is it cause for concern?

Deadly viruses can be very contagious as long as there is a period of time where the host can spread it asymptomatically before symptom onset. As far as I’m aware hantavirus doesn’t have that though? Sounds like shit just hits the fan right away

Yeah obviously a disease is caught from somewhere and they thing it has been transmitted human to human but seems to require close contact like family in the same cabin. This is all from the articles. In animals it required fluid contact and given what they see I think the assumption that would be needed I don’t think is a crazy assumption. This means any risk of contagion just requires simple isolation and you don’t have to have 10 foot rules and n95’s and such. Maybe a mask or shield to keep from inhaling cough spittle and gloves along with good hygene. Its doubtful such a thing could get out of control unless it was very mild and lack symptoms for awhile which does not appear to be the case.
