    Nuclear powerplants take that long because of extreme regulations, many of which are just total nonsense. They can be built at reasonable speeds, especially newer tech.
    The spent material storage is also a non issue.
    It’s honestly the biggest fumble in terms of energy production in the last decades. We fucked it.

      And this assumes China doesn’t figure out liquid salt reactors which seems likely at this point.
