I noticed recently that someone I blocked in the past was able to downvote my post. I thought if you block someone, they shouldn’t be able to see my posts at all? We are on two different instances if it helps.

How does it work on other instances? Let’s say I have an account on Mastodon and I post something on lemmy.world? I understand there is cross posting etc but what about cross blocking?

homes replied to my other comment that it’s different between instances. we’ll have to read about each ones to see what does what.

you misunderstoood-- it’s not different between instances. it’s just not how lemmy blocks work anywhere on lemmy. it’s a platform issue. different platforms on the fediverse like mastodon or pixelfed may handle blocks differently, but, regardless of the lemmy instance (or piefed or mbin which interoperate with lemmy), all blocks work the same way: they’re one-sided.
