minus-square「黃家駒 Wong Ka Kui」 | (aka: 鳳凰院 凶真 Hououin Kyouma)@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·6 hours agoI uses to live in Brooklyn, NY and had a school that has a 9/10 rating on greatschools dot org (or whatever that site is) Then my parents moved us to Philly cuz she didn’t wanna keep paying rent and bought a house in Philly (a house in NYC is impossible to afford) The schools here… So I looked online… Oh boy… 2/10 😭 No wonder why these housing prices are mych cheaper… and the tax was kinda not too high too… And I’m ethnic Chinese… Oh my god all those racist stereotypes against Asians… it’s on full display… I could practically hear my inner child crying inside my head right now as I type this comment: “媽媽，呢度好恐怖啊，可唔可以返去紐約啊？🥺👉👈” (“Mama, this place is very scary, can we go back to New York?”) Guess who has depression and because of that dropped out of college? 😭 (Okay shitty schools were just one factor, shitty home environment is the other one)
