In case of what? Yes, I know things are going to hell in a handbasket in the Untied States. I think those who have other citizenship should already be making plans to move. When I say in case of what, what I mean is why aren’t they already making plans to leave? What specific thing would need to happen to convince them it’s time to jump ship?

Don’t worry, they’ve no actionable plans for immigration and all that requires, they’ll get out when it’s too late.

Then what are you saying no thanks to? This is about people becoming Canadian citizens, which you already are.

Well, at least your opinion doesn’t matter. The people that qualify don’t need your approval and are already citizens, they just need to get their document from the government.

Could you highlight the section of the article where most Canadians don’t support the citizenship by descent law?

In any case, in a democracy, the rule of law should apply. The majority can make the law as they have done, but it shouldn’t apply retroactively. Your Supreme Court has recognized this and your parliament when it made the new law.

Canada’s fertility rate is below replacement level. You’ll need people to move there to keep your economy going and programs funded. The median age is over 40 and keeps increasing too, so not sure what will happen when it gradually approaches 60 over the next 20 years and everyone starts trying to retire with no one to pay for it.

And why are people not having kids. Everything is to expensive. You cant have a one income family anymore and if you have kids most of one income is going to child care.
