Even walking I can race a house and always win.

I can see that you’ve never raced a house that was taking it seriously, then.

Some houses are great sprinters. They’re called trailer homes. I see them racing down highways pretty frequently.

Other houses only really get a move on during emergency situations like mudslides or floods or hurricanes.

It’s from a Top Gear special where they drove around in Africa in search of the source of the river Nile

You can physically live in a car but depending where you live, this might me illegal or difficult to do legally. You don’t have an address and governments usually don’t like that. And it’s also not always possible/legal to park a car somewhere a sleep in it.

Still, motonormativity makes living in a car much easier than just roaming around with a tent. There are exceptions here called “relay villages” where people can legally park and sleep in their car or RV for the night. I love touring on my bike and some rail trails are going through those villages. And obviously you can sleep in a car there, but not pitch a tent for the night if you just have a bike. I’m so jealous of the privilege of people with RVs and cars sometimes.

Well, there’s always something like this, though it’s kinda pricey. I also saw a video of a lady who made her own teardrop bike camper. Xyla Foxlin, I think was her name. Sadly, that was the only video of particular interest on her channel, at least for me.

This is nice but not an option for me. This won’t pass through any chicane of the cycling network and I wouldn’t be able to leave my town. I also wouldn’t have any space to store it when not in use. Plus, I’m usually doing multi day trips that amounts to more km than what an electric bike can do on a single charge in a day, and pulling a camper behind would reduce even more the possible range.

I fantasized a lot about campers like this, thinking I could leave it at my parent’s and tour my native region. But again, chicanes… chicanes everywhere.

I would have to use the roads, with cars, and be very limited in range compared to what I’m used to. So unfortunately, as nice as this seems, it’s not really an option.

EDIT: Here’s an example of a very tight chicane on a remote rail trail.

Ah, that’s a shame. I do remember seeing a Youtube video of a lady who made her own minimalist teardrop bike camper that looked like it would be a lot less unwieldy than the one I linked, but it would still reduce the ebike range by a nonzero amount.

Reminds me of this guy: https://truehumanhistory.com/

His website is a long run down of why evolution is fake, giants being real and such. And he lives in a car he has fitted with all sorts of utensils like a shower, bed, vaccum cleaner and such. 3 things really get me:

    1. He has a boiler plate in the car, and he films himself cooking in the car so it must smell like s***
    2. Despite at all times being half a meter away from the open air, he fits a treadmill inside in his car
    3. In spite of being a conspiracy nut who thinks feminism is brainwashing and large parts of society being fake, he still owns Netflix

Lived in my car for a while while moving to another state. It wasn’t too bad thankfully I learned a ton from YouTube such as “cheap rv living” channel.

I did ride a horse years ago, but no racing… lol
