Bringing oil to avert us-imposed famine in Cuba is good, regardless of who does it.

Imposing the blockade in the first place is what reflects bad on him, you don’t have to come out on the side of famine. If he stops with Iran, are you going to mock him for not bombing more schools?

You’re saying not doing the thing which is causing a spike in hunger, infant mortality, etc reflects badly on Trump.

If I stab you, I wouldn’t say pulling the knife out reflects positively on me, but pulling the knife out certainly doesn’t reflect negatively.

You are outraged for a reason you shouldn’t be. I have no support for the blockade and don’t think it should continue.

If you stab me, and you pull the knife out to stab someone else, then pulling the knife out does not reflect positively on you. In fact, it reflects negatively on you because you want to stab someone else, you’re not regretting what you did and trying to save me.

Just because your action has an unintended positive effect does not make the action good suddenly.

Otherwise you could say stuff like “Trump is doing a good thing because he brings Europeans together in opposition and independence of the US!”. No, him being an asshole is still a bad thing, even if some of his actions might have a positive effect.

(Nevermind that keeping the knife in is actually the good thing, because it seals the wound. The only ones who should pull a knife out are medical professionals ready to immediately seal the wound)
