The Iran war has rattled the global flow of oil, with steeper fuel costs already straining households worldwide. And in the U.S., drivers are now facing the highest prices they’ve seen at the pump in about two and a half years.

According to motor club AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline jumped over $3.84 on Wednesday, up from $2.98 consumers were paying before the U.S. and Israel launched the war with joint attacks against Iran on Feb. 28. The last time gas prices were as expensive as they are now was in September 2023.

“It’s pretty hard. I mean, times are tough for everybody right now,” Amanda Acosta, a Louisiana resident, told The Associated Press while filling up her car’s tank this week. “I’m getting way less gas and paying way more money.”

My coworker said that the war was necessary, and that she is willing to pay the higher gas prices. She bitched her way through how “Biden made gas more expensive” even though Biden had no control over the war on Ukraine that caused the spike on his term. Now Trump is personally responsible for the higher gas prices, and she doesn’t mind them.

    The cognitive dissonance is staggering.

This is the same line they were fed about literally everything, including tariffs. “Short term pain, long term gain.” Except it’s not, because they have no long-term planning.

And they LOVE inflicting the short term pain. They don’t even care who it is, as long as they can laugh at someone in distress that they caused.

These people are all the bullies we used to have to deal with in school, except now they’re running the school. The only thing that stops a bully is counterforce. We’ll try that on Election Day first, but they aren’t going to fold on the first punch. It’s likely to get a bit bloody before the end.

While they are crowing about how great it is to pay more for everything right now, ask them how those doge refund checks or the tariff refund checks are working out for them.

Yep. I kept asking which “Biden policies” caused the things these sisterfuckers were constantly bitching about.

I never got anything close to a cogent answer. Complaining about “Bidenflation” or nebulous “Biden policies” is just something the brainless repeat like mindless zombies much akin to “Alinsky-style tactics” or talk about “Chicago politics” or chatter about something being supported by Soros.

If you ask someone saying these things even the most basic of questions like asking them to define what they are talking about or provide examples, etc…you’ll usually get a response like that dogedumbass did when asked to define DEI - it looks like they are frozen while rebooting in hopes of getting a firmware update that will have the answer…

Meanwhile, anyone with a brain can draw a direct line between PEDOnald’s illegal activities (tariffs and wars of choice) and the cost of everything around us and these stupid yokels will now tell you how fantastic that is.

I used to ask if there was a dial in the Oval office the president could turn.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I have since learned there is one; the only thing it can do is raise prices though.

Oh it probably is like having a “peace” dial. You can always turn that shit up to maximum war. Turning it down is the hard part and takes work.

Same thing with the economy. Any old ape - as Donvict is demonstrating - can break it. Trying to right the ship takes skill, time and work, something Donvict has exactly zero interest in.

Yeah, but that’s only because inflation is going to keep making the US dollar worth less.

I remember a time before when we hit $5 a gallon and not in California. And $5 was worth a lot more then, so we haven’t hit a high point at all. When it starts affecting crucial transportation, that’s when we’ll feel it. For now we just whine about it and still don’t change our habits.

I paid $5.15/gal for 87 octane on my last fill up in San Diego. Good thing I shifted over to biking nearly everywhere a couple of years ago (for health/fitness reasons) and rarely drive.

This is way worse than 2023, and we’re just getting started. Now they’re bombing the oil infrastructure, so even if Iran surrendered today, it would be a few years before oil production was back to normal. And we’ll e paying higher gas prices the entire time.

But Iran won’t be surrendering today, so it’s only going to get worse.

    Thanks, Trump.

I hate FB but it’s convenient to reach certain people. The Trump supporters in my feed have gone silent on Trump and now are just back to their normal hateful “look at how bad people I hate are” selves. It’s predictable. They won’t post about Trump when they disagree with him.

So I was curious and put it into a converter, USD 3.84 $/gal. is equivalent to CAD 138.0 ¢/L. The gas station by my place was 169.9 the other day which is equivalent to 4.73 for our southern neighbours.

But are y’all so strapped that spending an extra US15 at fillup is make or break for the month?

Apparently, some of us down here are.
