Guy tried to overturn representative government based on false pretexts, while slandering his political opponents, that if his martial law was successful would have presumably seen persecutions of them under those false pretexts.

Death sentence seems quite called for in a country that uses it regularly.

Or sentence it, then make him spill his guts on his whole factions of want to be dictators for a commutation to life in prison.

Or even one that doesn’t. If any crime deserves to be a capital offense, it’s shit like this.

I do not support the government killing civilians under any circumstances, but I sure do support civilians killing their criminally corrupt governments.

Fascism is what you get when the people in power can commit crimes without fearing for their freedom or lives.

As the average is dumb, let me be clear… No moral or ethical person should support violence or murder in a society of LEGITIMATE laws and justice systems that are applied EQUALLY (nobody is above the law; regardless of wealth, status, position, optics or power). If your goal is retribution, vengeance, pain or suffering then it is not a just or moral stance. The entire point in a rule of law is threat reduction and risk mitigation, to enable a prosperous & just society FOR EVERYONE. It is everyone’s duty to oppose unjust laws, and the systems that enable and protect them; especially predators of the weak and vulnerable (e.g. pedophiles).
