I don’t know why when the US still have large swarthes of untouched land, building one in a foreign country makes no sense. Just build it in the middle of the Cali desert.
Perhaps this is just to curry favor for the president, just announcing this in agreement with him to further his imperial bullshit. There is a big difference between what billionaires and companies say they are going to do and what they do. They are always talking about big renewable energy projects for instance and rarely follow through.
Even if they are planning on following through it might be to show justification for the president taking it, showing big things are happening there.
