It’s about time we stopped protecting Nazi politics under the rubric of ‘free speech’.

The countries that don’t do that still have freedom of expression (and they tend to have human rights protections even more expansive than ours), it’s just that it makes no logical sense to hide nazis (whose politics amount to advocating against human rights for particular people) under the skirts of human rights protections.

They want to silence and kill the majority of the population - stopping them from being able to do that by whatever means necessary is the pro-free speech move.

…also, stomping Nazis is fun - I recommend trying it.

I like to point to the tolerance paradox. If we want to be tolerant forever, there has to be a limit as to how tolerant we can be. And that anyone who preaches intolerance and hate deserves the gag order that comes their way. If you allow ethno-fascists to keep their platform, then you’re effectively telling them that it’s fine to be a violent asshat. It’s not. And if they claim FrEeDoM oF sPeEcH, this does not come with freedom from criticism. I am under no obligation to engage constructively with your message, it’s entirely within my right to at best for you, zone out and walk away, at best for me tell you to shut the fuck up and take your racist bullshit to some other place. Ideally some place where the sun don’t shine.

Your freedom to randomly and violently flail your arms about ends where my face begins. As soon as your flailing your arms about starts to endanger people’s faces, you should not be surprised that people start taking action to protect their faces. And on the other hand, if your face is being endangered by people flailing their arms about, it is your right to protect your face.
