If OP really needs it, law school students might be a good way to get cheaper rates. AFAIK, TOS and Privacy Policy are basically contracts, and every law student should know how to.
Repeated revisions with LLM of course is needed. For a small side FOSS project, the TOS and privacy policy is just in case. Plus the OP isn’t intended to make money off of it. The risk of someone going after OP is really low. I don’t really think OP need to get a real lawyer to do it.
I guess LLMs are OK at this as most ToS and Privacy Policies have quite fixed formats.
As HN: RustDesk Installs Chinese Root Certificates
WTF? A root cert that I don’t know how the private key being handled install sliently? This isn’t just a mishap but a fucking backdoor. No matter how legit the purpose is, this is plain unacceptable.
Update: It seems they have removed that cert already.
In a quick read
What I expect to see: How apple enables police to invade our privacy
What I actually see: 3 apps that digitize paperwork and help police do thier job on iPhone, and CarPlay
Conclusion: It looks like WWDC but for the cops. It is nothing wrong to use iPhone or whatever phone to make work more efficient. It is a tool after all.
I’m using Postmark for my Vaultwarden. Nothing major I know of.
So the project is just source available?
Then I don’t see any problem for them just put down $50 more.
I didn’t say it isn’t legit nor I distrust automation, but I would like to see anyone operating an online shop paid for a cert to show they are honest and won’t diappear in thin air not delivering. Am I going to get back what I paid, properly not, but a basic DV cert isn’t expensive either for a business.
I don’t believe paid cert can’t use automation to keep certs upto date.
Personally, I distrust any ecommerce site that uses any free cert. I see paid cert as a commitment to do honest business, as they need to have some records on the CA.
But for a blog or anythings other than ecommerce is totally fine by me.
Note: It is not about security, nor automation, but a show commitment (i.e. buying a cert), largely psycological.
Photos are never a concrete representation of the reality. Photos are being pre-processed by image processor already and we also got Photoshop. One can even fake a film based photo if he knows what to do. The proliferation of image generation models and impainting models make the access easier but image manipulation tools always exist.
Does that counts as emtrapment?
So how are they going to detect, proof, and enforce?
As long as it fits into the slot, it should work.
I think OP is quite clear that he wants something resembles to Telegram’s UI, but works with XMPP instead. The title is just part of the context. You still have to read the body, which uses terms “interface” and “UI”. This means he never intend something server side.
I won’t say your comment is inaccurate, but taken out of context and misinterpret what the OP means.
OP, I understand what you look for, but that’s not easy task. From my limited knowledge of apps development, achieving what you requested would likely be:
This is akin to swaping to a new engine for a car, with incompatible mounts. Diffcult to execute, and (I believe) low interest. You can try if you got the skills. I don’t and even I have, I will just use SimpleX which fits my needs.
I gave up in Firefox Sync an year ago as it doesn’t work reliably for me. The sent tab function, the main reason I use sync, tabs are frequently delayed (as in over a minute) or straight up not working. Now I uses SimpleX group for my cross device communications.
Maybe it is improved but I’m too lazy to try.
