Unfortunately Canada may be the new Ukraine in the near future if they fully embrace they’re fascists. It’s good we’re finding stronger alliances to cement that we are not a vassal of the US. Huh neat, cause we always called them thongs growing up and grandparents were not from there as far as I knew. I thought that was a US thing (for underwear), and thong was a more British and Aussie thing. Good to know if I travel to either of those places. I always felt closer to the EU (well probably more when UK was a member) as a Canadian. Probably lots of my household words while growing up were British (for example thong, foot beachwear vs underwear)than say American English.

I hope we get a closer tie with them regardless, we are a relatively small country by gdp and population compared to many and I don’t want to deal with Nazis like it’s the 1940s. I played enough stealth games, not my thing. But damn right I’ll do what I can for my country even at this age, so best I can hope for is being a part of the resistance I assume but hope it doesn’t come to that.

For lumber they have sections to log out for a period and shift them l, least how it was done when I was there in Canada. Essentially long term planning so by the time they need that lumber again it’ll be regrown to healthy levels, so they have a good idea area required for a season. We got lots of trees and non developed area but I assume similar in most places that do lots of logging…besides when it’s just done to clear areas that is, but not the usual rotation areas.

Been a few years (decades) since I’ve been involved in any way so perhaps things have changed but I think they’d try and keep that rotation going for longer term benefits. Due to needing road access and all for those spots they tend to be more remote, though I was in a small town in the middle of nowhere for most of my involved time I did end up in a more populated area and they still did similar. I was more IT and once had to go out to check out how their GPS was used, was a noticable drive to get out there, like 2ish hours I think. Can’t even recall why they asked I had no idea how their GPS was used properly or to make any changes.

Was the same when my father worked at the mill as well. Cause pretty sure i asked similar at one time. Their yard held like 1million cubic meters of wood often. So they stock up… Though lots of swamp in that area so most logging was in winter to stock up and run over summer with minimal input. Always fun to drive highways and get behind a logging truck heh, couldn’t help but think of final destination.

I just watched in the mouth of madness in memory of Sam Neill, me and my GF switch weekend of movie choice, wasn’t enough for Mr Neill so still doing Jurassic Park week after next. I don’t want to subject her to Event Horizon again.

There’s an argument about the pandemic team he disbanded could have recognized COVID early enough so it’d barely be a blip or known in our memories. So perhaps still, even if he didn’t try. I never watched it growing up but everything I’ve heard about it since I was an adult is great. Never watched much skit comedy outside of kids on the hall and that’s just when not much else was on.

Nowadays I’d say the kids in the hall stuff was much better than other stuff I watched, cause I’m not sure I even remember…some syndicated sitcom I assume, waiting for dinner.

Still recall some of the taglines as little as I saw it, since you were waiting for the next show (possibly Simpsons at one point on cbc).
