That’s not a normal thing, but you’re right. I can’t rule it out. Some phones may stay connective when off. It may require someone to tamper with them beforehand; maybe remotely while they were still on.
I read this patent at Google https://patents.google.com/patent/EP2680182A1/en and if it’s not snakeoil, monitoring the power consumption of phone components seems like a good detection method.
It does not reply. It doesn’t work when off or in airplane mode.
IMSI catchers / rogue cell towers do not work with switched off phones or in airplane mode. Source: https://shop.mobilen.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-imsi-catcher-detector/
they only know your phone is there, not that it’s you. they also need to triangulate your position to know it more exactly than “it’s in range”, which requires special hardware with an extra antenna
I’m a smart man and I think your question still stands. Why shouldn’t they get along like normal people. (Intentionally no question mark.)
i wish the rock i’m living under was as impenetrable as yours 😄
Mine has a setting for it.
Already patched and available via updates.
Also maybe select the correct paper format. If the footer doesn’t fit. It may be set to A4 in the browser/driver but the printer has Letter size paper, which is 18mm shorter.
I’m pretty sure some people enjoy being sexist/racist and some even get off of watching people being sexist/racist. However, there are people in both groups who also understand it’s a problem and stand against it, except with consent in private.
Yeah, that’s why ClickFix doesn’t work on most users, but still a few. The newer FileFix is nastier, because it looks more plausible in a situation of a download. Like, you know those fake download button ads? Imagine one of those and it leads to instructions to paste something into the native file dialog address bar instead of the run dialog. This will trick a lot more people.
It’s so called ClickFix and FileFix atracks. They give malicious instructions on how to perform a certain task, like download a file or solve a CAPTCHA. Some swap the clipboard contents in the last moment, so the victim doesn’t even know what’s in it: https://www.mobile-hacker.com/2025/06/24/introducing-filefix-a-new-alternative-to-clickfix-attacks/
I disagree. New smartphones may have a few better specs, but are overall worse than older models.
For example, they are getting bigger and bigger and can’t be operated one handed any more, even with Androids one-handed mode, because the zoom makes everything tiny.
Newer phones become hotter, batteries more likely to turn into spicy pillows.
More bloatware preinstalled, like AI stuff or “AR Emoji” etc.
The camera notches are growing too, even though most people would be fine with notchless cameras.
They are getting heavier and thicker too. In 2015 we had 5.1mm 98g phones. Not even a notch. It all went downhill from there.
And don’t even get me started on the prices.
yeah, that’s a weak reason against violent protests. stronger ones are:
btw cops love violent protests. they get to kill maim and torture more people than usual. it’s what many of them signed up for and look forward to with excitement. sometimes they have off duty cops in plain clothes infiltrating protesters to start the carnage. all it takes is throwing one stone near a collegue with shield and helmet to give him an excuse to go on a rampage against innocent protesters, while the infiltrator sneaks off
I’ve never encountered someone arguing against minimum wage increase IRL. It’s probably because they fear the very high chance they’ll get slapped.
That’s not the point tho. In Germany, to prevent another dictatorship, there are laws that forbid going against the constitution, which also guarantees free speech and the right to a personal opinion (Art 5). This medium is constantly publishing unconstitutianal propaganda and sometimes even trying to incite coups that would lead to abolishment of the constitution. So they are actually attacking free speech among other freedoms, like equality and religious freedom.

It is slower, but still fast enough for me.
