I loved visiting it, went right at the start of covid so it was the perfect sweet spot of being both open AND very few other people. Have lots of pictures and good memories of my time there.

Windows 11 is ok, just like windows 10 was ok. It’s not great, but it’s not satan’s asshole like some people make it out to be. Most use it because they don’t really have a choice due to software constraints, or simply because they’ve been using windows for forever and that’s all they know.
Personally I use linux because I like it more, though I still have a windows install for flightsimming. I think that it’s a perfectly fine operating system for the 80-90% of people who don’t care and just want their computer to be an appliance to get on social media or get work done.
I’ve done a lot of de-enshitification in my digital life over the past year, most recently by de-google my phone. I’m going to be honest: It’s not easy, nor convenient, and a lot of the time not cheap. You really have to go out of your way to get what you want, sacrificing at least something a long the way (features, usability, etc). It takes quite a bit of desire and determination to move away from the modern garbage that these companies shove your way, and I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth it for the average person because of the massive amount of effort that it takes.
All of the above is to say that if you really want to avoid enshitification you’re gonna have to make changes, such as buying a different set of peripherals for your pc, and that it’s not gonna be easy. The real question is: is all of that work worth it for you?
For me it 100% has been.
Yeah trying to find anything on any of the competing apps is basically impossible. I mean ffs OSMand literally couldn’t do address lookup!
I bought my black and white brother laser printer in 2018. I’m still using the same printer and the sample toner it came with in 2024. Literally zero issues ever, still prints fantastically. I just send it a print job once every 3-4 months and get a paper out of it with no fuss.
Been doing my part since October last year, have no intention to stop. Linux is awesome!
It would be an even bigger shame if they all got drafted when they got there and sent to the front lines. That would be so sad :(
You could also just find the promps online and paste them in.
