Is Mozilla that involved in Thunderbird? IIRC their revitalization happened more under The Thunderbird Foundation after Mozilla put them out to pasture to die after years of neglect.
Bro we fucking used to call them guestbooks
Bring them back if thats your thing.
start using it for cropping and basic things and it’ll be easier later to increase usage
Is this the new one or the old one? Cuz I thought the new one was balls.
Just now, sounds like it’s feature incomplete, still I am curious if I missed anything big
Store reviews are 2.4 / 5 why the poor reception
Do you use this in conjunction with any other input devices?
I’m just surprised Pidgin hasn’t been rewritten from the ground up by now. Some of the available messengers and logos in the app don’t even exist anymore.
This is a awesome improvement to CLI, it makes me wish that TTY was vector based though, we could do so much with a modern TTY.
Aw that’s rad, I’ve yet to have found a thumb cluster that feels like the right amount of keys and shapes, this is very interesting
How did the keyboard turn out? Is it Classic ISO or Planet 6?
I saw the popularity on AUR several times and installed but couldn’t figure out why people use it.
Their website cites GDPR or whatever and is honestly kindof meh.
I was interested in the conversation layout, advanced email headers and recoloring things like folders but idk if they have that or not.
Also I’ve always been annoyed that half the dialogs are integrated tabs and the compose email is a window that can’t be nested. I can’t remember if they fixed that or not.
I wasn’t personally impressed by the logo, it reminded me of a 2000s Mozilla but maybe that was intended. It didn’t have enough distinguishment from other Mozilla products while communicating that it was for Email or related to Thunderbird. It honestly looks like a browser.

Unfortunate, all the new users I know would prefer TB branding, or at least a toggle button in the Settings. The icon and name throw them off since they are already Desktop users.
It’s tracking trackball treasure
Thanks, it restores my faith in our community to get a complement.
I felt like I had finally made it in life where I was sustaining and so I did maybe a dozen donations to software I actually used as a signal of thanks.
I tried to make the amounts at least equal to commercial counterparts or at $100 each since it’s enough of an amount a developer will understand the deep appreciation and value others have in their gifted labor and to encourage them to keep up the awesome work.
I probably did at least another 1k that year to specialized Linux FOSS apps that professionals use – KDE, gimp, krita, inkscape, libreoffice, etc… – I don’t have as much free time to put into bug reports and grinding triaging bugs so I figured material could be a way to help out.
Thanks for listening to me vent. IIUC that mod was later removed 6?m later after a burnout blowup and they unbanned a number of people as per request but I decided not to request being unbanned as I felt that the writing was on the wall and it underscored __ the need __ for Linux Forums and Communities to not be controlled by any one person, niche group, or commercial interest. Thus I made my avatar a picture of Mastodon on a 100k karma profile over 10 years of Linux and here we are in the future hopefully in a new place where we can be free and live by the principles of libre and FOSs to share and help each other.
In any case, sincerely thank you for being courageous and restoring my faith that there are people out there that share my values and digital love for open source. Cheers :)
Sent $500 to FOSS projects one month.
Banned from /r/Linux on BlackFriday for making a post trying to make Linux BF deals a thing and clear our reputation as a non-market.
Fuck you CAP_WHATEVER_JERK_NAME
In any case it demonstrated to me
#1. Fuck Reddit
#2. Fuck communities that are not autonomous with the power spread out.
10/10 would do again.
Edit: Also CAP – that friend who was diagnosed with cancer that same day is now deceased, thanks for showing me your lack of humanity & decency over petty bullshit. That shit catches up with you fast trust me.
Make it so!
It requires a Qt Toolkit for UI upgrade and developers prefer to not constantly be spending labor on chasing the current version of every dependency when they could be doing more artsy things.
AFAIK Krita 6.0 plans on bringing Wayland support & the upgrade.
