Same here, happened when I was young. Thankfully I wasn’t holding it in my hand, it was on the counter. I didn’t get burned
Jokes aside, you can microwave small smooth metal vessels. Like mixing bowls and such.
Do so at your own risk, if it doesn’t specify that it’s microwave safe.
But you can buy ones that specifically say they are microwave safe. It just means they’re extra smooth, nowhere for charges to accumulate or concentrate. Might have something to do with it’s size too, not being resonant at 2.4ghz, but don’t quote me on that part.
Useful if you don’t want to take leftovers out of the plastic container first, and if you’ve had glass explode on you before.
Is this different from [email protected]?
That community is quite active already, and helped me get up and running and interested in local LLMs.
My wife has one, I don’t like to use it, it’s too aggressive for me.
I can reach my back with my arms. To get the spot right between my shoulders I have to reach up and come down from the top with one arm, while using my other hand to grab my elbow and pull it to push my hand low enough to get it more effectively.
That’s good to know, thanks! I’m still just learning to touch type. I spent a few decades typing fast enough but always looking at the keys. This year I’ve started learning touch typing, I’m only a half dozen hours in, so still pretty new.
But when I get good I’ll take this into consideration! Thanks!
Interesting 🤔 why? Just curious
Oh now this is different than I’ve heard, some others have had issues switching back and forth. So maybe I will give it a try, once I’ve got qwerty up to a decent speed and I feel comfortable with it.
Right now it’s a problem because if I’m in a hurry, I’m tempted to type the old way, or a broken mixture of the two that messes with what I’ve learned. Not good. Gotta slow down and do it right, bah…
Thanks for the recommendations, I’m gonna put a 3d printed split board on my list of things I’ll definitely get to some day and totally won’t get pushed off the back of the furthest back burner lol
Very cool!
Honest question, does using a keyboard like this make you forget how to use a standard one?
I know op did it for the pain, so it’s a moot point. But if I did it just because it’s cool, and to avoid injury in the future, would I mess up my normal keyboard abilities?
You articulated what I was thinking, better than I could have. This is it for me.
I’d add that there’s probably a lot of habit involved, plus the fact that everyone else does it.
So not only am I not used to saying “today is the 4th of May”, everyone around me isn’t used to hearing it either and might think I’m being weird.
This is me, except even more trusting 🤷♂️
I’ve definitely pulled my hair out with docker too. Banged my head against the wall for a couple days before finally giving up.
I’m not ridiculously tech savvy, but I’ve tinkered with Linux since I was young, daily drive it on my laptop. I’m not afraid of the command line, and I’m smart enough to search for help and guides when I need it.
But something about docker just breaks my brain. Maybe I’m too old and there’s too much abstract thought required, I don’t know. But I can’t figure it out.
They did not nest properly on boost. But I guess that’s not surprising, we only just recently got them at all
Thanks for this, but I apologize, I’m still confused.
You’ve described fixed gear, and geared, I think we now agree as to what these are.
But what is a single speed bike? I’ve never heard of it. Is it a geared bike, with only one gear, but still has a tensioner? So it can’t have hub brakes? Why would such a thing exist?
Good to know lol, thanks
Oh I get it, I guess I never heard it pronounced that way. British maybe?
As an American, this disagrees with my worldview. But I also don’t know enough about the British version to say your wrong 🤷♂️
I never watched the British one, and I don’t care for the American one, too cringey. Makes me sympathetic cringe.
I’m so confused. Drawbacks of a geared bike? As opposed to what? Flintstoning it?
I must just not be understanding what you mean.
I’ve ridden bikes with no derailer or gears, when you backpedal, you brake.
And I’ve ridden mountain bikes with front and rear gear changing.
I know there are super exotic driveshaft bikes, and electric etc, but besides that, what could you be talking about?
I’ve thought about doing this. In fact, if I ever own or build a house, I’ll be adding 240v plugs for exactly this reason. Something like a nema 6-15 or 6-20, with a GFCI breaker in the box to make it (presumably) legal.
