By all psychologists?
I agree that there is some stupid stuff being done in the name of science, 100%. But the discipline isn’t really the deciding factor imho.

Absolutely, yes.
The scientific method is an empirical method for acquiring knowledge through careful observation, rigorous skepticism, hypothesis testing, and experimental validation.
Any observable phenomenon should be studied using the scientific method. The alternatives are superstition or ignorance.
Psychology is a good example. It has been limited by our technology and our morals. The human brain is extremely complicated, and we cannot just disrupt peoples lives to create ideal testing conditions. But that doesn’t mean that psychology is not science. It just means that it has unique challenges.

Personal Taste ≠ Bigotry
It is ridiculous to think that anyone has to like or prefer something. That’s like saying there is something wrong for not liking the taste of licorice. If she thinks two girls kissing is gross, that’s fine, she is allowed to feel how she feels. If she thinks that two girls kissing is wrong on some moral or ethical level she is being a bigot.
There is a huge difference there, and it is extremely important in today’s world to understand this difference.
I’m not deaf, but just in case you don’t get an answer that stems from personal experience:
Your hearing loss in the one ear is (I’m assuming) caused by the ear canal being blocked. Your sensory organ still hears you chewing because the sound is transferred through the bones of your skull to your ear.
A deaf person has a different problem: their sensory organ is damaged or missing, so it doesn’t matter where the sound comes from, they don’t hear it.
