They need a cloud connection for the setup, but there is a “LAN only mode” (there are still some messages yet). There is also a new X1E (enterprise edition) that is said to be totally offline if needed.

From my point of view : it has a hudge ecosystem with tons of robust libraries. This does not make it perfect, but for an industrial point of view, you don’t look for new shiny clean things. (My point of view is 15 years old yet…)

I just measured it and the overhang behind is half the bed and half the infamous cable. You need around 60cm between the front feet and the wall behind, for the cable not to be torn when the bed is all the way to the back.

The bed goes back and forth. On the back, you need the place since there is the infamous cable that should not be torn. On the front, the bed can go over the void. There is no need for a 70 cm large table, maybe 50cm with overhang.

It’s a mess. I have the A1 with AMS and it takes way more space than I wanted. The coreX with AMS are way more compact.

I say to people : if you’re interested in 3D printing, you need two hobbies. 3D printing and anything else. The second hobby can be repairing things, a sport (spearfishing for me), board games, electronics, etc.

I started with a 100€ very small 3D printer for years (Tina2) and that was so worth it. Now I have a Bambulab with AMS and it’s night and day.

In Europe, we changed to the Euro not that long ago. I was a student and I used to use a shared laundry machine. It was the day before returning to school. I was barely alone in the dorms. Let’s do a laundry !

The machines were updated to get euros. There was another machine just to change the coins, especially since the washing machines only took one kind of coin (20 cents).

I put one fresh euro in the exchange machine, expecting to get 5 coins of 20 cents.

Congratulations ! I usually make 4 or 5 iterations too for each piece, with my least favorite color (toilet paper pink that looked fuchsia on the website). I even launch a print and during the printing I correct my model based on the n-2 print.

I have tried nearly everything. Chili powder or black pepper only works until the next dew.

I tried a special spray, it’s useless.

The only thing that worked for me to cover the whole garden was special grains made of wood and black pepper oil. You can throw it around the garden and it last one or two weeks.

For raised planter bed, I put nets originally used to cover trees for birds not to eat the fruits. It can be cut to any size and cats don’t like to walk on it. Some issues :

• it’s fragile. You need to replace it after one or two years.
• plants go through the net. It’s hard to remove then.
• once there was a tiny bird in it. I found it soon enough for it not to starve.

You know what? It’s BECAUSE of the US that we, French, have this now.
