The group I meant was Trump voters, not firefighters. I would have been more specific if I had realized the comment might have been interpreted as being anti firefighters and EMTs, and pro conservative/Trump.

Agreed. I won’t complain about a good thing being done. I was just speaking to what I believe the “why” behind it was, given the person I replied to was, facetiously I’m guessing, expressing incredulity that Newsom was doing something that doesn’t immediately line his pockets.
