Yeah I got in an argument with a former friend about that. He just kept repeating “shall not be infringed” over and over. I stopped my truck and pulled up the 2nd Amendment and told him to read it. He shut the fuck up. Look I am a 2nd Amendment guy but that amendment implies that as citizens we are obligated to be part of the state defense force if the need arises. With what the Republicans are doing right now and the speed of Project 2025 being put into place we need to look to coming together to defend out communities. Or maybe I am just paranoid. And their whole mantra is vote blue no matter who what choice do I have not vote?

As a former National Guard officer I am concerned that the Guard will be turned on us and most of the Guardsman will not push back. I live in the South and I know most of the state governors will do nothing. I hope the blue state governors do something. I hope the Guardsman remember their oath. I am not hopeful. Prepare for the worst.

While I have been voting blue no matter who because if how fascist the GOP it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Now that more progressive candidates are rising it will be interesting to see if they shoe can be put on the other foot. Will the moderates and neo-liberals in the DNC still vote blue no matter who? The moderates maybe but the neo-libs will get butthurt and either not vote or work to sabotage the progressive candidates.

Let me say this to my progressive brothers and sisters. The gun issue is going to keep driving people away who would be on your side. As a US citizen I welcome you here but with that said if there is any way to not come choose it. The risk to you and your family is too great and with the coming mid-term election looking like it will go south bringing civil unrest.
