All of this crap stems from one individual named Nils Bejerot, who was the anti drug guy for the government back in the day (he also coined the term Stockholm Syndrome, and was against comic books because he thought they would make children grow up to become violent). He considered drug use to be an infection in society that could spread from person to person, and the only way to stop the infection is a zero tolerance policy and to make society fear drugs. And oh boy did all that propaganda work. Still today, 36 years after his death. Through that lense, the article you mention “makes sense”. It’s incredible the effects one person can have.
As a swede: Word. It’s backwards as fuck here. The previous government didn’t even want to investigate whether or not to decriminalize, because doing so (investigate, mind you) would “send the wrong signals”. Yeeah fuck science and people’s lives when you have “signals” to worry about.
The solution is constant googly eyes.
When you put it like that… Maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
Send a spy in to steal their floppy.
Sadly for us, they have the robustness of being perpetually offline due to being old and crappy. I’m sure even their internet is just standalone computers that you have to carry floppies between.
Yes, I do that too. And if I have to prepare something before an appointment I might make preparation its own calendar event, with reminders.
And when they are - it’s nothing to worry about since they’re not here anymore.

Online calendar with a widget on my phone’s homescreen that shows the upcoming week’s appointments, so that I constantly see them by accident. And a habit to always put important appointments in the calendar immediately when I’m made aware of them or plan them.
And always have the calendar open in a browser on the computer.
Uttar Pradesh is the Florida of the world, but like, way worse.
Everything has context, and context matters. Your can look at any issue from different perspectives and through different lenses. From different perspectives, different aspects of the context might be of different significance, etc. As such, there could very well be a perfectly fine reason to say “stop targeting women journalists”. But that doesn’t, at all, mean other perspectives are invalid.
The sex, gender, ethnicity etc of the victim, and the perpetrator, can give very important context that can point to very important issues that needs to be dealt with. If you’re alluding to the actual deaths of the victims being equally bad no matter their gender because they are all humans, then congratulations for passing the lowest threshold for human decency.
Wanting to end femicide doesn’t mean you value women more than men, it’s pointing to a specific issue. It also doesn’t mean that other issues doesn’t matter.
I’ll just say this: End femicide.
Most of us, actually.
Everything bad or inconvenient will be DOCTOR’S STOPPAGE!!
Beautiful kitty. And such nice fur. Deserves the chair.
Curious downvotes on this one.
You could do that… But on the other hand… PROFITS!!1
I’ve got it. Since we’re worried about rising sea levels on earth, we can just pipe the excess water to the moon and flood the moon’s surface with water and use that for cooling.
