Hopefully she’s trying to unify the base in preparation for 2026. However, we’d probably all be better off if we abandoned the Democratic party in favor of a real progressive party that puts the needs of individuals over the desires of corporations and billionaires.

I’d say at this point the left’s response, if they want to stop the decline of the country, is to abandon the Democratic party and form a new party that actually puts the needs of the 99% above the needs of the 1%.
Communism and Socialism have no chance in the US, but a social democrat is probably pretty close to what the majority of Americans want.
Of course, I’m not talking about a group that only surfaces once every four years. The presidency shouldn’t even be a thought. Instead, we need a progressive party, dedicated to people, and working at the local and state level to fix what we can there.
It worked in the middle east because the government had to avoid offending the sensibilities of the American people. Imagine how it would go if the American people had been indoctrinated completely into a fascist hate frenzy.
That would never happen in America, of course ( /s ). However, imagine what war with America would be like with a fascist government firmly in control.
Imagine what would happen to the minority of civilians who would engage in revolt?
The fact is the U.S. is still a democracy. If there were enough people to win in a fight against the government, they could just vote in who they want. As much as it makes me sick to say it, that’s what they just did.
Don’t forget all the American lives yet to be sacrificed!

Not really related to the post, but I feel like sharing.
Big boss where I work wanted all managers to read a book. He had staff scour the Internet looking for copies of this book so that they could give every manager their own copy.
He said we were going to have meetings with the entire management team to review chapters of the book one at a time.
The gist of the book was: take the time to make sure you hire the right people for the job, retain the good ones, and get rid of the people who don’t work out.
I think we covered two chapters in meetings.
After that, an upcoming hiring freeze was announced, and everyone was told to fill all their open positions within two weeks or the position would be cancelled.
I refer to this as companies wanting to hire the person who just quit.
Why would they care? The whole world is witnessing it and no one is doing anything to stop them.

I didn’t see it happen, but I saw the aftermath. A small car was crushed between two large trucks in the left lane of the highway. When I drove by, the crushed car was completely unrecognizable as a car. Just a pile of compacted metal and plastic. You couldn’t even tell what was the front or the back.
When I got to work, I checked the news to see what happened to the driver of the car.
No significant injuries, just some scratches. She laid down across the front seat and slid down under the dashboard and managed to find the one space that wasn’t completely compacted.
I’m thinking Musk may be in a “Brewster’s Millions” situation, in which he needs to spend every penny he has and end up with absolutely no assets in order to win an even larger fortune.
If we’re really, really lucky, someone scammed him to think that he’d win a fortune, and after he’s lost everything he’ll discover there’s no fortune.
Well, duh.
Most people tend to buy the imperfect cheap product rather than the better, more expensive product.
If we refused to buy crap, they wouldn’t make it. If we refused to buy it, they couldn’t make it.
They sell us crap because collectively we prefer it.
