I can’t find anything saying he was a republican. Every news outlets seems to be reporting that he was unregistered and hadn’t voted in past elections.

His parents mentioned they had a discussion with him days prior talking about kirk and how he spreads hate. He had expressed that he didn’t like kirk.

Again these are from major news outlets that were spinning kirk as not as bad in recent days so take it with a grain of salt until we hear more. It’s possible that he had no political affiliation and just decided to act based on his personal beliefs

I was frustrated that Canadian news outlets were downplaying who he really was. They’re also saying people who are celebrating his death should be ashamed.

He contributed to death, ignorance, misinfo, and leading youth into the alt right pipeline. People should be able to participate in politics without risk of their life.

People should also participate in good faith and shouldn’t be allowed to lie or steal. In a just system, these people would be held accountable by the courts. People also should not be allowed to advocate for things that directly or indirectly cause hatred, racism, discrimination, etc.

I don’t feel ashamed for feeling okay with this situation. At most, I feel bad for his kids, but I felt bad for them regardless of this situation.

I’ve heard of this kind of AI usage a few times now and it seems so smart. You’re learning by teaching, but also being trained in AI literacy and the downfalls of AI. It encourages critical thinking and genuine learning at the same time.

At this point I think the cat is out of the bag. The internet isn’t private anymore. At the same time I question what happens if we start to self censor. On one hand I think it keeps a person safe, on the other hand I think it could just start to let authoritarian or fascists take a stronger hold when they’re the loudest voices.

It really bothers me that the government ordered a return to work rather than ordering the airline to pay their employees.

To me, it shows they view us as disposable cogs. Very frustrating

Thank you for the information! Yeah, I don’t really trust them. They feel flimsy and unreliable for most things. Sometimes, they have their moments where they seem actually helpful.

I hate their usage overall, I just figure if I need it to help me land a job at some point, I should probably just have some extra options ready.

Kinda not surprising though, because youtube seems to launch experiments very haphazardly.

I’m not sure why but I’m able to disable them on mobile. The tricky part is guessing what the original track is. I’m on YT premium which might be why?

I think the ideal functionality would be having (ORIGINAL) next to the audio track that isn’t dubbed and have that set to the default setting.

I think if they can get the dubbing correct and actually working as intended, that would be incredible for opening up cultures for everyone. I think crossing language barriers is really cool.
