5·7 months agoPGE serves Northern California. They keep raising rates like 10-15% each year to cover their losses after all the wildfires a couple years ago and because of the greed.
They’re charging for solar because PGE is a greedy fuck.
Do you have anything to back that claim up with? Everything I’ve read points to other sources.
It isn’t trash if OP has a use for it. There are valid criticisms for 3d printing, but microplastics in your brain probably isn’t one. That’s coming from other sources.
The majority of those microplastics come from synthetic fabrics, car tires, and paint. Things that notably degrade over time into little particles. These sunglasses probably aren’t going to see that kind of wear and tear.

Apparently Ondsel recently announced they’re shutting down, partially due to this release. A lot of what Ondsel added to the FreeCAD experience is just merged into FreeCAD now. Sad to see it but at least all their work wasn’t for nothing.
Its loud and often kicks up tons of dust that can be an irritant until it eventually lands on everything nearby.

201·10 months agoThat’s a misleading headline. Makes it sound like 70% of young people use cannabis. The figure is that of people who were charged with cannabis related crimes, 70% were in their 20s. About 1.8% of their population had ever used cannabis in 2019.
True but trust is hard to establish in decentralized platforms like the fediverse. As far as I’m aware the only decentralized banking is unfortunately cryptocurrency.
Isn’t that what NFTs do?
Mid journey and the like have already been caught creating shutterstock watermarks in images. Future models might be able to fake specific watermarks well.
I slightly hate myself for suggesting it, but are you essentially describing NFTs?
There’s a local llama subreddit with a lot of good information and 4chan’s /g/ board will usually have a good thread with a ton of helpful links in the first post. Don’t think there’s anything on lemmy yet. You can run some good models on a decent home pc but training and fine tuning will likely require renting out some cloud gpus.
Copper and iron are essential elements in human biology. Enamel coatings need to be thrown out once they start chipping. Nickel isn’t great but in my experience stainless steel pans barely shed any material after years of use.
I stop at manufactured polymers. Particularly when they’re used in applications where they fall apart into our food and the environment where they’re going to last millions of years.
It’s not known to be harmful or carcinogenic. Doesn’t mean it isn’t. It’s hard to identify correlation between exposure and harm for something that we’re nearly all exposed to especially if the level of harm is low.
Companies have also been known to harass and silence researchers who show their products are harmful. I don’t see a reason to trust that PTFE is safe to eat when I have the option to just not eat it.
Japanese rice prices are a weird combination of inflation, panic buying, inefficient farming, and a bureaucracy managing it all that actively wants rice to be more expensive. This video has a really good explanation of it.
