The response was too canned and uniform. There’s no fact finding, no actual concern for what happened here its all just rhetoric aimed at curtailng free speech. Add in the FBI director weighing in way too early and it all points to a setup.
There’s a real possibility the guy that did the shooting is the target of an FBI entrapment scheme or something similar.
Did he also say this gave him the right to cancel other people’s memberships and start talking about his right to shoot anyone who is in the gym without his permission?

Well this is rich people being unaccountable to anything but foreign military realities. This is the union of corporate capitalism and a two tiered justice system which are both things that go hand in hand.

Roads in the US are subsidized at billions of dollars. Public rail service is maybe a fraction of a fraction of that. To boot, most the railways in the US are owned by a handful of private companies in local, regional monopolies.

I think old school version of this is writing a letter then not sending it or burning it. Unsent letters are a historical gold mine.
More importantly, the presence of an audience make it likely people will embellish or lie to get responses. Which is why anonymous confessions are always more dubious than anything else. I don’t think earnest anonymous confessions are bad though.
I don’t think these big software companies considered laying off all their devs would lead to open source projects getting piles of talented volunteers
