And I support Mozilla goal of creating something independent, but I also don’t like their engine. Everything using Blink is not automatically a bad thing.
There are a few Firefox forks:
And then there is Brave which I find smoother than Firefox, but that’s just me.
I don’t know the specifcs, but there are strict rules and requirements on how the data has to be stored if you process any of it, then there is complience issues with laws like GDPR and you have to be a registered entity as far as I know. It’s just too much legal paperwork for most FOSS projects.
Top comment made me smile
You are unlikely to find FOSS alternative that is not for cryptocurrencies as the regulations around credit card data processing makes it hard.
Unlikely based on current reports that Wagner still has recruitment operations from Molkino which is in Russia and only a small number of Wagner troops have arrived to Belarus. Belarusians are also against attacking Ukraine and every time Lukashenko even hinted at it senior generals said they will refuse to carry out the orders. Lukashenko has no real control in Belarus and is being protected by Russian Presidential Security Service (SBP) as he is afraid of being killed.
You are more likely to visit a site that has a crypto miner embeded than downloading from known scene groups.

I read that public service annoucement accounts were excempt from the change, but it’s just bad business either way.
The audits relate to a version of the Google tool from August 14, 2020.
Facial recognition is the the tool used, the problem is the charges.
“The processing of Mr. Glukhin’s personal data in the context of his peaceful demonstration, which had not caused any danger to public order or safety, had been particularly intrusive,” the court’s decision noted.
Defintely. It’s the judicial/criminal process that is the issue in my opinion. Victics have no protections and are treated worse than accused. It’s better in Europe, but far from good.
They want to expand the defininition.
Could be. I haven’t tried with Lemmy. Will try later and mention you with my results.
They still are, they just delayed the decision until other court tells them if they have the power to do so.
