Even the few people who don’t own cars are hurting, because the ships that bring in food run on diesel, the trucks and trains that bring the food from the ports to the rest of the country run on diesel. The grain producers and cattle farms, some of which are the size of small countries, all run on diesel. The cost of diesel is hitting everyone.
