I continue this vibe by looking for covers and live versions of the same song. Doesn’t hit 17.000 but I can usually get enough to last me until I get bored with it and I also find the definitive version to come back to later
Just listen to AC/DC. 17 albums of one song.
Or tool, not quite 17 albums, but I think the overall run time is the same.
Once you’re done with all those you can get into airbourne too for even more acdc
Then there’s me, I have a song that has ~30 seconds out of the song that’s absolutely banger, but it’s one of those songs that’s constantly shifting vibes so the rest of the song is just ok.
I’ve been searching for anything that would give me a full song’s worth of that 30 second section for years but never really found anything that fits.
The song is: Me!me!me! - daoko feat. Teddyloid - specifically the section between 4:57-5:27. Music video is highly nsfw FYI
If it’s the part I’m thinking, check out “She music”. It’s sort of a mix of trance/chiptune.
I have trouble listening to the same songs over and over. So this leads me to an endless hunt chasing some sonic high I can never satisfy. I can dig the same songs back up after maybe 2 years and they seem fresh again. Usually by that time I forgot.
I also listen to music way more than 60-80 hours a week at least. I’m a music glutton. If I can find 3 songs in a row that hit just right, I’m having the best day ever.
Yup. Listen to a sing more than twice in a row and it will start to feel predictable
Is this an adhd thing? I thought I was just fucking stupid and couldn’t appreciate music the way other people apparently did.
This is the exact functionality I want from the suggestion algorithm from Spotify etc., not whatever bullshit metrics and way they have been doing until now because it fucking sucks…no, liking one track from an artist does not mean I like anything else from them, actually more often than not it’s only that one single track I enjoy.
God fucking same. It’s got to be hard as fuck because I haven’t seen anyone able to do it. Pandora used to claim they were trying to do that with their music genome project but they just kind of never went anywhere with it and it slowly morphed into a shitty hidden algorithm just like every other place. To be fair though I find people are also terrible at it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for recommendations for songs similar to one I really vibed with and the recs I get are literally nothing like the song. It’s especially bad in the various genres of techno. Recently I wanted a way to find acid techno, but like more acid, but there’s no words to describe that that will lead me to the music I’m looking for. Language sucks sometimes.
If you can dig up the producer of the track or album you like rather than the writer you may have a better chance of finding more of that sound you are digging. For example Sevendust has a lot of bangers, it turns out they produced their own albums so to hear more good stuff I just look for more Sevendust. Try it, listen to the Black out the sun album in order, each track complemens the next. Amazing album, you’re welcome.
Jokes aside, the producer thing is legit.Yeah, a lot of bands where they have one big hit song or album that doesn’t fit their normal discography worked with one of a handful of producers that have tons of hits.
And that’s why I tend to prefer to listen to some random online radios that just keep pushing nightcore to my ears. It’s all the same vibe constantly.
I have the same band’s discography on repeat for the last 18 years.
which is?
I also only listen to The Mountain Goats
I am like this. It drive me nuts.
I’ve found that - at least with streaming services - just passively listening to music similar to That One Song™ will net you lots of good shit.
For example: I’m a metalhead, but also enjoy EDM/DnB and the like. By “tuning” my streaming algorithm to those genres, I’ve found bands like Pendulum, The Browning, We Butter The Bread With Butter, and so much more.
Yeah, why can’t the band make an album with 12 songs that are basically the same, but not? Like Jesus H. Christ it can’t be that hard? (Says me, the guy who plays guitar as a hobby)
I make my own vibes 😔
Going through the same thing in comics at the moment. Read Hopeless Savages followed by My Riot and now I only want comics about girls starting punk bands
I’m curious if its possible to check like the sonic profile of a song and filter songs that match it. I know Plex let’s you add an llm to their music app but unsure how it goes about doing anything
Plexamp does a pretty good job with the “Show similar tracks” feature.

And that’s why AI music is winning.
Idk about “winning”, but definitely “flooding the zone so hard that you struggle to find normal music anymore”.
Check out Bandcamp if you’re looking for “same vibe, different artist”. They’ve got a ton of musicians on the platform that do a great job of churning out period and style specific material that’s still human-made and different enough from the original that it doesn’t feel like the same song.
But YouTube Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud are all just drowning in the slop. The only winning move is not to play them.
Found this on YouTube randomly
