Not trying to flood printables and co with more AI but honestly curious.
I am a person that has no sense for aesthetics whatsoever. In a creative process even less so. This would help me out im some situations. All functional parts j do in freecad.
A thread about myminifactory I asked about some ai site examples to evaluate the model quality. For example, do they know how to avoid overhangs if possible etc.
It got downvoted.
For real: what are some tested ai generators for stl?
EDIT: people are dming me links because (I assume) they don’t want to admit they are not completely against ai. That is a healthy atmosphere right there. I agree that ai is taking a bad path right now but the tool itself shouldn’t be discarded as a whole. You people are acting like calculators are bad because they let your mind rot. My grandfather was one of those. Simple answers are almost always wrong or incomplete. Think!
I’m not the person you were talking to but why don’t you take your own advice in your own post and
AI is not a good or effective solution for replacing art. Talentless hacks think it’s a game changer. Its clear with your arguments that you desperately want to replace artists with slop machines that churn out garbage. Clearly it’s not well received by the majority of people. Instead of mindlessly doubling down on overhyped and under-delivering technology, go take that mental energy and use it to learn how to model. Otherwise everyone will rightfully clown on you.
Also, I just want to encourage you to actually do real research about what AI is and how it works. Your original post compared AI to the calculator and you accuse those who warn about AI use as being similar to those who warned not to use calculators. Calculators always get the right answer. They are precise. AI is not able to be precise. It doesn’t understand it’s outputs or it’s inputs. AI is in absolutely no way comparable to calculators. You highlight your ignorance with this.
Regarding calculators: I meant that a new technology is always met with resistance. Rightfully or not is another subject. That was my point. Not ai adoption equals calculator adoption.
Regarding my opinion and winning over people: I responded to comments that were hostile (my perception). For me that’s something else than trolling under comments. But hey that is another topic I really don’t want to get into.
Regarding understanding: I am absolutely open to get educated if I got things wrong. What do You mean by AI being something else in principal than a algorithm that searches good next steps for a task while comparing it to previously learned content as a goal while incorporating the prompt? I understand it as an n dimensional vector field that looks for weights and tries to produce something resembling the prompt. For images that mostly enough (if you don’t want to replace artists as in creativity, although taking work away from them). For text answers asking for facts that is horrible as we all know. Plausible is not enough there and the concept is fundamentally flawed.
I just looked up stochastic and you are right it’s the wrong word. I can’t think of a better one. If You can please let me know.
