Can you ONLY be around them 5 hours a day? Because the 11 hours without them sounds pretty sad. So does the 8 hours of sleep without kitties on top of me, soaking up my warmth.

I imagine you could do as many hours per day and days per week that you want to. You are correct though that having to spend eight hours sleeping without kitty cuddles could be a negative.

Maybe I could take 2 or 3 home at night, if I promise to bring them back in the morning. Rotate them, give them all a chance to visit.
