An easy trek along the northeast corner of Lake Tahoe, which could be shortened down to just a quick stroll on the beach. This hike takes you to some small boulder patches sticking up out of a shallow section of the lake, which is also apparently great for swimming/beach activities in warmer months.

Large boulders jut up from the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Snow capped mountains may be seen in the distance.

A view towards a snow dusted hillside covered in pine trees. Much of the frame shows a shallow area of Lake Tahoe, with highly visible rocks on half and then a more sandy bottom on the other, resulting in an almost turquoise coloration.

Lake Tahoe at sunset, with a row of pines running from the right of frame to the center along the shoreline. Pink clouds may be seen on the left of frame with an orange hue lining the mountains in the distance.

Me and some friends go to Lake Tahoe every couple of summers for a week or two, and going to Sand Harbor is the best day. Finding a boulder to lay on so that half your body is in the super cold water and the rest of you is in the sun is peak relaxation!

I believe it!! I really like that little corner of the lake, although every time I’ve been it’s been too cold outside to test out the chilly water!
