The horse’s name is Buddy and he took great care of me. I’ll be riding him on a much longer trail ride in the 5th!
Trail is such a crazy workout. Going down steep hills was the hardest (and scariest) part tbh, but once I went down the steepest one, I was fine lol.
I haven’t done one in like 12 years, so it was much harder than I anticipated. I trust Buddy to take care of me, but the hills still made me nervous at first. When I realized he knows neck-reining, I felt much more confident and the riding came more naturally after that. I grew up with my main mare being neck-reined and I trained all the other horses I liked to ride how to be neck-reined because it’s comfier for me
It’s been so long but I loved doing trail rides. In the best cases you feel a real connection with the horse.
