I agree. And I did not.

Javascript is shit because it was never intended to be a serious language, but it’s (realistically) the only language in browsers so it’s everywhere. So there’s necessarily a LOT of tooling to make it suck less. The current generation of tooling is starting to get kinda good, like Bun, Deno, Vite, Biome etc, but it’s still a mess of competing standards, where other languages give you standards and simplicity for free.

Can you imagine when it’s normal for robots to have significant spending power, and become a target for advertisers? They’ll need another robot to go “well this ad is targeted at robots so I need to make sure to not show it to any of those pesky humans”

What about showing birthdays? We need a birthday experience. We need to hire a birthday guy to build it fast.

I tried the cheap costco hotdog for the first time recently. It did not make me happy.

Fox Force Five

Make charity obsolete!

Damn, that must have seemed like such a good idea st the time.

Those are all caused by them not needing to compete. Throw a few execs in jail for collusion to defraud their clients (the employers), and the other issues all go away.

This was my first guess also. “Legalized Lobbying”

Can someone explain to me simply (and I’m assuming the answer to that is “no”), why they can’t force the insurance companies to compete with each other on price. That would seem to be the obvious “free market republican” thing to do, and a prerequisite for removing the fat subsidy to the insurance companies that they’re currently trying to remove.

You should try following Sumo. Its -extremely- traditional, so the commercialism has a hard time sneaking in. Only the top two divisions are pro. There’s a major tournament starting today (Sunday 9th nov) for the next two weeks. You can easily catch replays on youtube.

Hey Mike, you’re in an impossible situation. On the one hand pledged your loyalty and honour to a guy, and on the other you’re causing children to starve. You’re a man of faith, what does your faith say to do in such a situation? Maybe if your guy is worth your loyalty then he has nothing to fear from a fair trial.
Is this for 1 on 1 conversations? I feel like i do need a response ready, because there will never be more than about 1/10 of a second of silence bfcore someone else starts. I feel like the only way I’m ever gonna be anything other than silent all night is to be a little louder than the person who started talking half a second before or after me.
Depends if you’re going to Walmart.
