What I don’t understand is a one-time tax. That isn’t going to do shit, given the size of California’s budget. It would need to be an ongoing progressive tax.
Instead of constantly raising fees and taxes (Californians already have a total tax/fee burden close to a Nordic country when factoring in federal taxes, not to mention other deductions) that somehow never seem to improve the material conditions of Californians, how about addressing things life housing reform to drastically lower property values and make living more affordable? How about reversing urban sprawl with high density housing and start to overbuild in density to lower costs? How about rapidly developing public transportation networks so people are relived of vehicle expenses, long commutes and pollution?
California’s infrastructure is absolute garbage and it contributes to out-of-control costs of living. Fast food workers don’t need $25/hour wages, where they’re still struggling to exist on such a wage. They need affordable food, healthcare, housing and other basic essentials.

It’s physically impossible at this point to merge one’s mind with a computer. We don’t fully understand how consciousness works and by the time we do, he’ll be worm food.

It’s probably a good idea to stop using nitrogen-based fertilizer, or at least greatly reduce usage of it, reduce pesticide/herbicide usage and decrease use of GMO monocropping. Vertical farming for non-grains is an option, too.
We’re going to go the way of the Mayans if changes aren’t made. The current slowdown and eventual population decline are also positive developments in this scenario.

Focus on local plant-based food if you can. Fresh produce, tofu, grains and legumes are still going to be way more affordable than non-essential boxed/bagged foods and sodas. Non-local plant-based food is good, too, if you can afford it. Supporting companies like Beyond is a good thing. I don’t mind that the ranchers are suffering. Start by consuming less animal products, that’ll save a ton!

Are you vegan? That’s one change everyone can make that serves the planet and works towards of the elimination of exploitation of sentient beings for profit. It’s also a great thing for the planet. If not, why not?
Do you reject giving money to Amazon, Target, driver delivery services? Do you try to cut back your consumption of unnecessary consumer goods to a bare minimum, always aiming to do better all the time? If not, why is that?

But the problem lies in the fact that people want to elected leaders alone to make the change for them, while having no involvement in that change other than a vote.
The elected leaders we have are nothing but a reflection of who we are.

You want things like climate change action? Animals rights? Become the change agent yourself by looking at your daily consumption habits.

The citizens rely on Batman (establishment wealthy centrists) to save them every four to eight years. And when Batman fails to truly change material conditions, they let out the Joker from Arkham again, who promises to maintain their first-world consumerism.
Of course, the joker is a psychopath who wrecks shit, so he also fails on his promise to improve material conditions. He worsens them. The citizens get pissed and cry out to billionaire Batman again. Joker gets thrown to Arkham again for four to eight years. Rinse and repeat, without ever looking within themselves to see how they perpetuate the evil cycle of exploitation.
Even if voters didn’t directly vote him, they still support the system via there dollars to all the corrupt things. It’s exactly by design to serve the capitalist class. Batman and Joker are from the same DNA of the wealthy lineage.
If Americans woke up and addressed the true problem, which originates from their collective obsession with materialism and stop relying on Batman to save them from the Joker, then the joker has no reason to stick around and Batman becomes irrelevant.
