No. Regular people do not know what war looks like. Not in the US at least. The Vietnam War was the first and most televised war in history and why it became so unpopular. After that, the people in charge of wars kept that brutality from the general public. I remember Fox News up in arms over other stations showing the solder’s caskets coming back from Bush II’s war because it was turning support away from it. The more you humanize the victims of war, the less and less popular it becomes. Israel’s wars lack support among people who don’t get their news from main stream.

People should see what real war looks like. They should see it with as much warning as the victims had.

Americans went nuts after 9/11. It was weird how all of a sudden, it was ok to be openly racist. Up to then, I knew older people were racist, but were being shamed into keeping quiet and it was fading from younger generations, but 9/11 set all that back. They were right to be scared.
