Tulsi Gabbard’s curious and confounding political odyssey may have reached its end. She has announced her resignation as Trump’s director of national intelligence, citing her husband’s medical struggles.

Her departure comes in the wake of months of reporting that Gabbard was being sidelined within the administration and that Trump was considering firing her.

She hung on for 15 months. In that time, she made a mockery of what she’d always presented as her core principles. It looks like it wasn’t enough to save her job.

That’s because Tulsi’s proclaimed anti-war principles were always bullshit. She rose to national prominence calling for more drone bombing in the middle east on Fox News.

People think she started political life when she spoke against the DNC for Bernie, but she’s been a shitty opportunist the whole time. Nothing she’s ever proclaimed as a principle was about anything more than promoting Tulsi Gabbard.

I despise Tulsi Gabbard as intensely as any other Trump henchman, but I will credit her for leaving the fascist shitshow on her own terms.

I bet she’s hoping to escape the reckoning, when this entire administration is tried for treason - hopefully one day. But I hope she gets what she richly deserves for the damage she’s done to this country. Fucken bitch.

I read she was forced to resign. i.e. fired.

My understanding is that she was going to get dumped by the orange utan soon, and she elected to be the one to choose her last day at work. But maybe I misunderstood.

At least she didn’t grovel to stay on the job, Todd Blanche-stylee.
