    Lucky, I’m in CO and all I got was some lousy clouds and rain. I even set a reminder and got up at 4am for it :(

    I stayed up until almost 4am to take my own shots (Southern California) as I’ve done in the past.

    Cloud cover was fine until about 2:45. Then it was nearly 100%. I kept checking to see if I could spot anything until 3:40. Nope.

    Fuck.

    So obviously this is an amazing photo, I love it, and I love the fact a human used a camera to take this… but what’s to stop someone just throwing a gradient on top of a stock photo of the moon and calling it a day?

      I mean, nothing. If someone wanted to do that, they could.

      And I am sure we will start seeing more and more AI being passed off as real pics as the technology improves. It’s sad.
