    Kdenlive had came a long way and it is the most impressive open source video edittor I ever seen. It is lacking community preset with the special effects tho.

      I’m not that familiar with video editing but community presets come with a strong community so as open source software becomes better there’s a good chance a community will develop with it and make custom presents, plugins, and forks.

      I hate that Adobe has almost a monopoly on a lot of different kinds of programmes.

        It’s not even because adobe has the best software (it is good) but because they allow users to sell their extensions. They will make “community” content, tutorials, develop extensions, ads, try to convince people that their product is the best. There is little space left for anyone else

      Blender is a close second. Though it lacks a lot for pre made transitions and such. But considering what it is you can make just about any transition or effect you want with enough effort. Though that’s a bit too much effort for those that just want to edit 😅
