She’s been outside all day just loving it. I brought her in briefly to give her brushes and talk to her and then she went right back out without issue. She led me to the spot she’s been hanging out at and started munching on some hay that’s there.
Three of my friends are actually moving their horses here soon as well! The one who trailered Sandy saw the place and was like, “Dang we should move ours” and they are! So I’ll have people friends here as well!
Don’t let anyone tell you that the field needs to be mowed. Horses need roughage and not sugary grass. Our pastures haven’t been mowed in years now and our horses are healthier than when it was lush fields of grass.
Oh I know. The actual pasture didn’t have weeds like that in it. That was just the view I saw when I walked out of the barn and thought it was pretty. The weeds were just along the fenceline lol. She’s got a variety of things to chomp on out there and it’s interesting to see her try different plants.
That’s great, her digestive system will thank you.
100%
She’s already eating way more than she did at the old barn. On top of all the forage, the hay here is amazing quality, too. She also has a better feed that gives her the calories she needs.
That’s great news. Healthy horses are happy horses.
